1st June 2016: Doi Suthep
We started our day with our complimentary breakfast. It is not halal so i dont really touch any of their meat related items. I just basically grab their bread stuff, salad bar, cereal station, youghurt which has a halal sign by the way and fruits. Their yea and juices are good too.
Our first thing in the morning was the Chiangmai Zoo. I got to say the Zoo is super huge. Entrance fee for tourist is 150baht which is SGD 6. Worth every penny as it is really good trekking up slopes while enjoying nature and animals.
What I love about the Zoo is the chance to interact with the animals through a donation drive of 10baht per bowl set up for the animals of different station and they really based on the honesty of each individual as no one is guarding the station. It was really a long trek up that we got tired as the next station wasnt visible and there are so many treeworms dropping from the tree that paranoids me. Other than that the Zoo is a must visit despite the quiet crowd, a thai versed animal bird show and the entrances of the aquarium and panda are separate plus you can take the bus drop on and off at 30 baht for those who cannot walk up high slopes. You can even hire a buggy too.
We really got tired so we skipped a few stations and since we are in the doi suthep area so why not go for the doi suthep temple. There is a bus outside to navigate from the zoo to all the way up and down. We got this bus driver who was so nice to offer 4 of us 150baht SGD 6 each round trip to the temple and back to the city which is a good deal price since we took a taxi from our hotel to the hotel costs us 140baht.
Doi Suthep temple costs 20baht per entry and elevator 2 ways at 30baht. But if you feeling challenged why not climb up the steps. 100 steps to the first checkpoint which is where i am above and another 208 steps to the top.
The temple definitely worth the visit and not just because the interior gold architecture but there is also a view not to be missed overlooking part of chiangmai including the airport.
While waiting for another 2 friends of mine. I took a wefie and speaking of which the bottom has a lot of shops which you can look over but we didnt have time since we agree with the driver and the rest at one hour time spent here.
And dropped off at the gate of tha pae but we are too early to walk to the night bazaar so we walk back to the hotel passing temples and cafes and of course we stopped by them including this mango desset cafe at la manga.
The night bazaar where we shop mostly me till like almost midnight getting thai silk scarfs, cushion covers and personalised pouches.
We even get our dinner and supper at Roummit2 at the ansuran night market which the taste was much better than Roummit1 which ia chinese inspired. This is more thaish taste. Worth 750baht for all.
Thats all for yesterdays day 2. Day 3 updates will be updated soon.
