23rd March 2016:83/366 Local Flavour

Write a piece about a typically “local” experience from where you come from as though it’s an entry in a travel guide.

My daily job is mainly giving suggestions on “What can I do in Singapore?” Of course I have some suggestions to introduce to visitors on what they can do here. Here are some places they could go for:

 1. Architecture

Marina Bay has the best architectural buildings. Starting with my previous workplace at Gardens by the Bay with Supertrees and conservatories. The iconic Marina Bay Sands, promenade to catch the city of Singapore lined up, the Helix Bridge, Singapore Flyer, Esplanade and many other buildings down the Singapore River.

  1. Heritage and Food

Lau Pa Sat definitely have the range of different kinds of food. Heritage places like Chinatown, Little India and Haji Lane/Arab St have their own culture and heritage touch respectively. Haji Lane premises also have many different type of cafes to try. Singapore’s heritage also can be found through museums like National Museum and Singapore Art Museum.

  1. Activities

Most variety range of fun activities definitely comes from Sentosa Island where the beach, theme parks, exhibitions and outdoor adventure activities can be found.

  1. Shopping

The whole stretch from Orchard Road, Somerset & Dhoby Ghaut, Bugis Street, Jurong area and outlet shops of Jurong IMM or Changi City Point and even our 24hrs Mustafa Centre.

  1. Nature and Animals

Singapore Zoo, River Safari, Jurong Bird Park and Night Safari are great for animal lovers. Botanical Gardens, Matritchie Trail, Henderson Waves, Fort Canning Park are some Singapore best kept Mother Nature scenic places.

  1. Night Life

Clark Quay and Baot Quay is where the night scene is mostly with bars, seafood restaurants, pubs and clubs are till the wee hours. Complimentary Light shows also available at the Marina Bay area every night.
