10th February 2016: 41/366 Teachable Moment

You have to learn a new skill. Do you prefer to read about it, watch someone else do it, hear someone describe it, or try it yourself?

Learning a new skill? I think all the techniques mention are ways how a person can learn.

Reading a new skill is good to know the procedures, steps, formulas etc. Watching someone else do it with skills is good for practical things like origami or building a car. Hearing someone describing a skill is more of learning by experience like skills of approaching somebody. Trying a skill myself is good to learn with what you know and apply.

For me, I think trying on the skill by applying what I learn from reading, watching someone do it and hear someone describing it is the best way to officially getting to learn something. Learning skills usually help by practice and experience.

Nonetheless each person have different ways of learning; don’t you agree?
