How they take in oxygen?

Caterpillars are the first stage of butterflies/moths hatched by tiny eggs. They usually are herbivores and constantly growing till it’s time to hibernate into a cacoon of a period of two weeks to about a month for them to transform into a flying butterfly.

How they take in oxygen?

Answer: Through breathing holes called Spiracles. They have to be moving in order to breathe and they do not need oxygen every second like we do.
